Applicants desirous of visa services are now required to fill-in online visa applications on https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/index.html and the hardcopy (along with all required documents) of the same can be submitted to this Embassy. This facility has commenced with immediate effect. No manual/hand-written applications for Indian visa will be accepted henceforth.

Welcome to the Visa Service of the Embassy of India Bamako. All visa applicants are required to fill up only online visa applications for getting a regular Indian visa in Bamako. No manual/hand-written applications for Indian visa will be accepted on or after 8 April 2019. Applicants would require filling up online visa application through the Indian Visa Portal https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/index.html  (The instructions to fill up online Indian Visa Application Form are given below at ANNEXURE ‘A’) A print out of online submitted application form duly signed by the applicant along with all required documents should be submitted at the Embassy between 0900 hours and 1200 hours on all working days.  Passports, after completion of the requested service, can be collected between 1500 and 1600 hours on the date indicated. Fees for visa service should be deposited in the bank account of Embassy after obtaining a bank-advice/deposit-slip from Embassy. General Instructions for Visa applicants:

  • All foreign nationals entering India are required to possess a valid international travel document in the form of a national passport or UN Laissez Faire with a valid visa obtained from an Indian Mission or Post abroad. All foreigners traveling to India should strictly abide by the local laws. Foreign Nationals desirous of getting Indian Visa are required to possess valid passport of their country with minimum validity of 6 months. Each visa application is considered on its merits and the Embassy may ask for additional information at any stage during the processing of the application. Submission of application along with prescribed fee does not guarantee issuance of visa.
  • Foreign nationals should ensure that they are in possession of valid Indian Visa before they start their journey to India except nationals of Nepal and Bhutan, nationals of Maldives who do not require visa for entry into India for a period up to 90 days.
  • It is the responsibility of the applicant to verify details of visa issued to him / her while collecting the passport.
  • Please finalize your travel arrangements only after you have obtained visa.
  • Grant of visa by the Embassy does not confer the automatic right of entry into India. The Immigration Authorities have the right to refuse entry at their discretion.
  • Cases where a fresh application is filed during the validity of an existing visa, new visa issued will automatically annul pre -existing visa irrespective of its validity and no fee refund is admissible.
  • Children intending to travel to India must apply on a passport in their own names.
  • Types of visa, duration and the number of entries permitted will be at the discretion of the Embassy of India.  Visa fee once paid is not refundable.

Registration at FRRO: All foreigners (including foreigners of Indian origin) visiting India on long term (more than 180 days) Student Visa, Medical Visa, Research Visa and Employment Visa are required to get themselves registered with the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer (FRRO)/ Foreigners Registration Officer (FRO) concerned having jurisdiction over the place where the foreigner intends to stay, within 14 days of arrival. However, Pakistan nationals are required to register within 24 hours of their arrival. All Afghan nationals are required to register with the FRRO/FRO concerned within 14 days of arrival except those Afghan nationals who enter India on a visa valid for 30 days or less provided the Afghan national concerned gives his/her local address in India to the Indian Mission/FRRO/FRO. The Afghan nationals who are issued visas with ‘ Exemption from police reporting’ are exempt from Police reporting as well as Exit permission provided they leave within the Visa validity period. Health regulations: Any person coming from a yellow fever endemic country as indicated from time to time by the World Health Organization must carry a certificate of vaccination against yellow fever to be produced when asked by the immigration officials in India. Restricted / Protected Area: Prior approval of the competent authority is necessary to visit such area. For details: http://boi.gov.in/content/restricted-protected-are

Satellite phone: All the Applicants are advised/ requested not to use /carry Thuraya and other such Satellite Phones in India. Prior permission of the Government of India is required to bring in a satellite phone to India.

Eligibility and Documents required to be submitted for Indian Visa:

Common requirement for all types of visa:

1. Dully filled in and signed visa application form.
2. Passport
3. National ID Card (In case the National ID Card does not contain residential address of the applicant, a Residence Certificate needs to be submitted)
4. Two recent passport size photographs
5. If the applicant is holding a non-Malian/non-Mauritanian passport or having dual nationality.
6. A separate “Reference Form” is to be filled which is hyper-linked.
7.  If resident in Mali/Mauritania: Proof of residence (certified copy of Lease Deed or Utility Bill)

Tourist Visa

TOURIST VISA is issued to foreigners whose sole objective of visiting India is recreation, sightseeing, casual visit to meet friends or relatives, attending a short term yoga programme etc and no other purpose/activity.

  • Bank Statement for last three months.
  • Original Company Registration with a photocopy (for self-employed)
  • Salary-slip of the last three months (for salaried)
  • Employment and Vacation Certificate from employer (for salaried)
  • Reservation of return ticket

Business Visa

BUSINESS VISA is available for travelling to India for the purpose of business meetings with companies in India, meetings, sales or exhibiting on behalf of a company outside of India or to buy/sell industrial/ commercial products.

  • Letter of Invitation from an Indian Company/firm on its official letter head duly signed by the authorized signatory mentioning name and contact number including landline telephone number. . The letter must state the recommended duration of visa and an undertaking that the sponsoring company will take responsibility of the foreigner during his/her stay in India and to repatriate the foreigner at its cost if such a situation arose. A copy of the invitation must be sent to the Embassy by e-mail at: cons[dot]bamako[at]mea[dot]go[dot]in by the inviting Indian company.
  • Bank Statement for last three months
  • Certified copy of Company Registration (original may be asked for verification)
  • A letter from the local Company explaining the nature of business and duration of stay in India.

Medical Visa
&
Medical Attendant Visa

A MEDICAL VISA is issued for medical treatment in reputed / recognized hospitals / treatment centers in India.
Up to 2 attendants who are blood relatives of the patient are allowed to accompany the patient for treatment in India on a Medical Attendant Visa, which has the same validity as the Medical Visa of the patient. It may also be granted to a Doctor accompanying the patient to India.
A Visa for Commissioning Surrogacy is NO longer permitted.

  • Preliminary medical advice from local Doctor/ Hospital
  • Reference Letter signed and stamped from the hospital concerned in India should be provided on the letter head of the hospital/organisation with applicant's details. The letter should also specify the nature of illness and likely duration of treatment.
  •  Please note that Medical Visa and Medical Attendant Visa Applicants must obtain an Invitation Letter from the hospital. This letter must be generated through the ‘Medical and Ayush Visa Portal’ only. Direct invitation letters addressed to the Embassy will not be accepted.
  • Bank statement for last three months in the name of applicant or an Affidavit alongwith bank statement of the sponsor who will bear the expenses.

(The initial duration of Medical Visa is up to 1 year OR the duration of the treatment, whichever is less. The Visa will be valid for a maximum of 3 entries during the year.
Validity of Medical Visa commences from the date of visa issuance and NOT from the date of entry into India).

Conference Visa

A CONFERENCE VISA isavailable for traveling to India for the purpose of attending International Conferences, Seminars or Workshops conducted by Government bodies, Public Sector Undertakings or Government aided bodies and NGOs provided necessary clearance by nodal Ministries/Departments of the Government of India/State Governments is in place.

  • Copy of signed letter of invitation from the organizers of the Conference in India.
  • Conference Registration of the applicant, if applicable.
  • A Letter from the sending organization giving clear details of financing of the visit.
  • Reservation of return ticket

 

(Prior clearance is required from Government of India in certain cases.)

Student Visa

A 'STUDENT VISA' is issued to bona fide students who wish to pursue regular studies in recognized educational institutions in India
IMPORTANT: Please note that Student visa is issued only for full time and regular courses at a recognized educational institute of India. No student visa is issued for part-time or short-term courses. Prospective students are requested not to pay tuition fees etc before decision on his/her visa application is known to them.

  • Letter of admission from recognized educational institution/University providing full details, including:

       (i)  duration of the study
       (ii)  tuition fee
(iii) certificate of affiliation
      

  • certified copy of degree and/or education certificate
  • copy of the birth certificate authenticated by the Ministry of  Foreign  Affairs and Police Clearance Certificate
  • Details of the sponsor
  • Business registration, if the sponsor is self-employed
  • three-months' pay-slip, if the sponsor is a salaried worker
  • Bank Statement (last three months)
  • Sponsorship letter attested by  notary public

Intern Visa

For pursuing internship in Indian Companies/Educational Institute/NGO
It will be granted immediately after the completion of graduate or post-graduate courses as long as the gap between the completion of the courses and the start of the internship does not exceed one year.

  • Letter from the Indian Company/Educational Institution/NGO concerned sponsoring the applicant for the internship programme and clearly indicating the period of internship and the salary (if applicable). The letter should be stamped and signed. In case of internship in a Company, the applicant should draw a minimum remuneration of Rs. 7.80 Lakhs per annum.
  • Certified copy of proof of graduation
  • Undertaking from the sponsoring company/organization written on its letterhead stating that the Indian company/organization shall be liable/take responsibility for paying taxed on behalf of the applicant.
  • Undertaking from the sponsor that it will ensure departure of the foreigner on completion of the internship.

(In certain cases, issuance of Intern Visa may take longer time depending upon the receipt of clearance from Government of India.)

Employment Visa

An 'EMPLOYMENT VISA' is issued to foreign nationals for working in India for a company/organization or to those who intend to do honorary work with Registered NGOs in India. The applicant should be a highly skilled and/or qualified professional being engaged or appointed by a company or organization or industry or undertaking in India on contract or an employment basis at a senior level, skilled position such as technical expert, senior executive, or in a managerial position, etc. The Employment visa cannot be granted for routine, ordinary or secretarial/clerical jobs.

  • Copy of the employment contract signed by both parties. The Employment contract should have a specific clause for payment of Income Tax in India that the employer shall ensure the payment of income tax by the employee
  • Copy of  Certificate of Incorporation/ Registration papers of Company in India offering the Employment
  • Copy of educational qualification documents and curriculum vitae
  • Justification letter from employer

For foreigners intending to visit for honorary work (Without Salary) with Registered NGOs in India should apply for 'Employment Visa' and are required to submit the following documents:

  • A letter from the sponsoring organization in India on letterhead indicating the nature and the duration of the visit and place of work. The letter must be signed by an authorized signatory of the organization.
  • The letter from the sponsoring organization needs to state whether the applicant will be a paid or it is an honorary work.

Journalist Visa

A 'JOURNALIST VISA' is issued to all Foreign Journalists, regardless of whether they are traveling for tourism or any other purpose. J visa may be granted to a professional journalist, columnist, cartoonist, editor, photographer, a representative of a radio and/or television organization etc

Letter of introduction / assignment from employer should be provided, wherever applicable, including copy of Press Accreditation Card.
Supporting document is required from the inviting organization in India.

In certain cases, issuance of Journalist visa may take longer time depending upon the receipt of clearance from Government of India. 

Film Visa

Film Visa will be issued to cast and crew members of international productions and official co-productions shooting a Feature Film, TV / Web commercial show / series and TV /Web Reality show / series.

  • Before applying Film Visa the permission for shooting these categories of production is granted by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MoI&B), Government of India. The proposals are accepted and process by the Film Facilitation Office (FFO). The application is to be submitted online on www.ffo.gov.in.     After the shooting permission has been granted by the MoI&B, the cast and crew members of the approved project are required to apply for Film Visa.

Entry Visa

An Entry Visa to India is granted in the following cases:

  • If you are a PERSON OF INDIAN ORIGIN
  • If you are a spouse or a child of a person of Indian origin
  • If you are a dependent family member of EMPLOYMENT,RESEARCH, or STUDENT VISA holders.
  • If your purpose of visit to India does NOT match any other type of visa.
  • For Person whose previous nationality was Indian before acquiring foreign nationality: - Copy of Surrender Certificate and Copy of the Cancelled Indian Passport (Self-Attested)
  • For family visit, if the family members in India are Indian citizen, any proof that you have relatives in India.

 

  • For family members/dependants of a foreigner who is granted Employment Visa:

(i) Birth certificate in respect of children.
(ii) Marriage certificate in respect of husbandwife.
(iii) Recommendation letter from the employer of the person holding ‘Employment’ visa.

Research Visa

A 'RESEARCH VISA' is available to Research Professors or Scholars undertaking research work in India.

 

  • Eligibility/Admission Letter from a recognized educational institution in India. (Original and photocopy)
  • A detailed synopsis of the research project, countersigned by the sponsoring institution in India.
  • Certified copy of degree and/or education certificate
  • Copy of the birth certificate authenticated by the Ministry of  Foreign  Affairs and Police Clearance Certificate
  • Details of the sponsor
  • Business registration, if the sponsor is self-employed
  • Three-months' pay-slip, if the sponsor is a salaried worker
  • Bank Statement (last three months)
  • Sponsorship letter attested by  notary public

Transit Visa

A ‘TRANSIT VISA’ is issued to enable a person to travel through India to reach his / her ultimate destination.
A ‘Transit Visa’ required if one is going to change from the International Terminal to the Domestic Terminal of any Indian Airport or if going to stay in an airport hotel even for a few hours.

  • Confirmed Air tickets.
  • Visas for country(ies) of destination.

Transfer of Visa

Transfer of Visa could be done from the old passport to the new passport for any visa issued by the Embassy. Applicants are required to submit the new passport and old passport which holds the valid Indian Visa.

Official/Diplomatic/
Laissez-Passers passport holders

Applications for Diplomatic/Official must be submitted along with a note verbale from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and African Integration of the Republic of Mali or respective Mission, as the case may be.
Application for Paissez-Passers holder should be submitted along with a letter from the concerned UN Organization/Mission.

Process for filling up online Indian Visa Application Form
STEP-1) Go to Website: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/index.html
STEP-2) Click on “Regular Visa Application
STEP-3) Select the “MALI”, <Indian Mission> “Bamako” and fill details such as Nationality, Date of Birth, E-mail, Expected Date of arrival in India, Visa Type, Purpose) and click ‘Continue
STEP-4) Please note "Temporary ID No." and fill "Applicant Details and Passport Details"& click ‘Save and Continue’.
STEP-5) Fill "Address Details, Family Details and Profession/Occupation Details"& click ‘Save and Continue’
STEP-6) Fill "Details of Visa Sought, Previous Visa/Currently Valid Visa Details and Reference Details"& click ‘Save and Continue’
STEP-7) Upload Photograph (JPEG Format, Size between 10kb and 1mb, Minimum Dimension 350x350 pixels, White background photograph)"& click ‘Save and Continue’
STEP-8) System will ask the applicant to “CONFIRM DETAILS” & if you need to edit details click ‘Modify’ otherwise click ‘Verified and Continue’
STEP-9) After filling the form and submitting it, the System shall automatically generate an Application ID No. _____xxxxxxx. Keep this Application ID for further communications with the Embassy. Applicant can print/re-print registered application with this Application ID No.
STEP-10) Take the print out of the submitted online application form, sign it and submit the form along with supporting documents at the Embassy.
Note:- i) The online Indian visa site (https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/) is best viewed in Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer (Windows) version 9.0 and above.
ii) The applicant must also have Adobe Acrobat Reader version 7.0 or higher installed on your PC in order to download and print the completed application form.
iii) The applicant has to come personally to submit Visa Application at the Embassy as BIOMETRIC ENROLLMENT (Capture of Finger Prints/Photo) of the Visa applicant is mandatory.
iii) Upon receipt of the visa application, Embassy requires a minimum of three working days to process the case and issue a visa depending upon the nationality and excluding special cases.

e-VISA FACILITY
Services of e-Visa involves completely online application for which no facilitation is required by any intermediary / agents etc. It is advised not to believe or fall in trap of any such unscrupulous elements who claim speedy/express grant of e-Visa and charge money for it.

Eligibility

  • International Travellers whose sole objective of visiting India is recreation , sight seeing , casual visit to meet friends or relatives, short duration medical treatment or casual business visit.
  • Passport should have at least six months validity from the date of arrival in India. The passport should have at least two blank pages for stamping by the Immigration Officer.
  • International Travellers should have return ticket or onward journey ticket,with sufficient money to spend during his/her stay in India.
  • International Travellers having Pakistani Passport or Pakistani origin may please apply for regular Visa at Indian Mission.
  • Not available to Diplomatic/Official Passport Holders or Laissez-passer travel document holders.
  • Not available to individuals endorsed on Parent's/Spouse's Passport i.e. each individual should have a separate passport.
  • Not available to International Travel Document Holders.
